1. Be Realistic- All Weapons/Items/Characters must fit into the Halo Cannon and be Realistic. No Epic Mini Nukes Guys, and If you are going to take a building make Damn sure that you have enough men to take it and the men to protect it.
2. Play within your Character- If you’re playing as a Covenant Elite. Why are you allying with a UNSC Captain? If you can come up with a valid reason feel free, but make sure you can defend it.
3. Keep Convo's relevant to the game world- Outside arguments should be handled on a separate thread. If you are having a problem with a player in the world handle it outside the world.
4. The Admin has the final say- As the Administer (Admin), the Admin’s job to keep the world historical and fun. If The Admin tells you something can’t happen it doesn't help arguing with the Admin. It can get you demoted in game or banned from play entirely.
5. The Admin decides the actions of all the NPCs- The NPCs will usually defend any building not under the control of a player but the NPCs may occasionally go on the offensive, so be sure to defend your buildings.
Ranking Structure:
Each player is awarded “rank points” based upon how well they do in combat and how well they play their characters, I will let each player know via PM Message how many points they have been awarded and any rank ups they have obtained. These rank ups allow you to purchase new Troops/Equipment.
Level 1- 0 points
Level 2- 5 Point
Level 3- 10 Points
Level 4- 15 Points
Level 5- 25 Points
Level 6- 40 Points
Level 7- 60 Points
Level 8- 75 Points
The Basics:
Moves:
Every player is allowed unlimited combat Moves per Day.
Every player is allowed one transport Move per Day.
Every player is allowed unlimited role-playing Moves per Day.
You can move once and attack until you have no more units to attack with (just like risk that’s your “turn”). Move orders are how players and units get from planet to planet, etc. Attack orders will be calculated by either an admin or a moderator. You can cancel your attack and attack something else, but only if the GM hasn't posted the results.
Role-playing moves are things telling us what you’re doing, trying to build alliances, talking to each other, naming the buildings that you captured, etc. Please stay on topic in the game and discuss non-game related conversations outside the game.
Units, Resources, and Purchasing:
Units can be purchased at any time, assuming you have the required funds, just PM the Admin the units you wish to buy. Units may not be deployed in ongoing battles (I.E if you purchase anything while you are fighting it cannot be used until that battle is resolved).
Attacking:
Each battle is mainly determined by the units, equipment, and any specified bonuses.
Equipment may only be used once per attack (I.E. 1 Artillery Strike per battle).
This is where effective roleplaying comes in, results WILL BE directly affected by how good your strategy is. Using superior tactics and surroundings to your advantage during battles affects the battle.
When you attack, the admin or moderator will calculate the result and post them, this will not be the final result, just an update of the battle. It will then be the player's decision if he/she wants to continue to attack/defend or pull out. Same with their opponent. Please let me know in your role-play (bear in mind your opponent may not give you the desired outcome so easily). Note: you must declare how many units you are attacking/defending with in your post.
Defending:
When on the defensive you may fight against your attacker or withdraw, if you withdraw you move to an unknown point on that planet (meaning you are hidden from attack) until you decide to leave that planet or come out of hiding and attack. A successful defense means your attacker's units that were attacking you are destroyed and you retain possession of that building/territory.
Factions:
Factions: There are four factions to chose from - UNSC, Convenant, Rebels, and Heretics.
UNSC- The UNSC has access to the best military equipment and arms from among the human races, thus they start with better units/equipment than the other humans, this is also the faction you are from if you wish to play a Spartan.
Covenant- The Covenant has access to the best military equipment and arms from among the Covenant races, thus they start with better units/equipment than the other Covenant races, this is also the faction you are from if you wish to play a Prophet.
Rebels- The Rebel Commanders have become known for their ability to Hit and Run. The Rebels have raided various UNSC faculties, warehouses, transports, etc. They have fought since they were old enough to carry a gun.
Heretics- The Heretics have become infamous for breaking off from the Covenant. During that time, they took various vehicles and equipment to aid them.
Flood- The Flood is a species of highly virulent parasitic organisms that reproduce and grow by consuming sentient life forms of sufficient biomass and cognitive capability. The Flood emphasizes "numerical superiority" in engagements and uses aggressive swarming tactics. As such, start with a larger amount of units compared to other factions. - Not yet playable, the flood will only be added if there is significant interest.
Planets and Colonies:
Each game will have a certain number of planets with different buildings available to them, in order for you to acquire the needed resources to build up your forces you need to capture buildings.
Eventually, you will be able to colonize other worlds. Each Faction is only able to colonize one world. In order to colonize other worlds you must build a Colony Ship and send it on a colonize mission, that will take 7 days. After the ship has landed on the colony, they will begin to build buildings this will take 1 day. You can decide what buildings to build; you can pick in any combination of 4 from the following: Research Facilities, Sharecrops, Mines, Towns, Anti-air battery. Note once the buildings are built you will gain control of all of them.
Buildings: Each building will be defended more heavily depending on that building type.
Easy:
Research Facilities (While controlled, your level is automatically increased by 1)
Sharecrops- (10 food a Day)
Mines- (5 metal a day)
Town- (5 credits a day)
Normal:
Anti-air battery- (fires at enemy Naval Units, aids friendly fleets in combat near the planet)
Aeroponics Bay- (15 food a day)
Ship Yards- (10 metal a day)
Banks- (10 credits a day)
Heroic:
Military HQs (10 food, 10 metal, and 10 credits a day)
Farms- (20 food a day)
City- (25 Credits a day)
Military Outposts- (bases used to defend other territories on that planet. In other words, an attacker has to conquer an occupied military base before they may attack anything else)
Spires- (highly defendable base that disables all enemy armor and air vehicles, same concept as military outposts)
Legendary:
Military Academy- Produces one free infantry (Marine/Grunt) a Day
UNSC Fortress- usually have stockpiles of extra vehicles and resources
Citadel- usually have stockpiles of extra vehicles and resources
Examples:
Faction- UNSC
Character- Spartan
Character Name- Jim 007
Bio- Jim is one of the first Spartans to pass through training, a wry spry guy he is an expert in both hand-to-hand combat and close range combat. He has thinned down his armor. He likes to carry around a silenced SMG and a razor knife.
The following is a short example of a battle.
*In UNSCs Mobile Command Center*
Jim- Listen up men, we are taking the shipyard just north of us. Force Recon, I want Artillery Strikes here and here. With warthogs pushing up on there right flank, ODST will land and provide suppressing fire. We move at 2200.
*Covenant Shipyard*
(The Covenant forces is awaken by a barrage of artillery strikes exploding throughout the Shipyard.)
Jackal Scout- Incoming UNSC forces attacking! Composed of warthogs and ODSTs inbound!
Elite- Rally the troops! Have all Jackals fire as the ODST pods start opening. Send the wraiths to fire at incoming warthogs
Admin: The Covenant put up a solid defense, but the force recon and ODST demolish the Jackals with small casualties. While the warthogs take loss due to the Wraiths mortars.
UNSC losses: 2 force recon, 1 warthogs
Covie losses: 6 Jackals
Please indicate if you wish to continue fighting or withdraw.
Elite- (Blarg) We cannot win this fight brothers, falling back to the Ridgeline and have the Wraiths start shelling enemy positions...
*Battle is over, UNSC takes control of shipyard as the Covenant elects to retreat.*
Please note that a battle may take place anywhere, it doesn't always have to be at a building or territory. You may run into a hostile squad in the middle of nowhere!
Everyone needs to decide what Faction he or she is playing as and what his or her character looks like and make a background. Take the time to complete your character and know where you are going with your Character (look at the example above or at other posts).
